Can a Mortal Be in the Right in God’s Eyes?
Job 4: 1-21

In the heyday of the charismatic movement in Britain, like many people I used to receive short messages from God from time to time for passing on to other people, and sometimes I used to be given such messages by other people. One of my friends who was a leader in the movement used to say that a third of such messages were significant, a third were trivial, and a third weren’t true at all. The first of these thirds, however, was not to be despised. Since I have been in the United States, hardly ever have I been either the means of bringing such messages or the recipient of them. I don’t know what to make of that fact. But the other day when talking to someone who had had a hard time in her life over the past decade but had recently found her life taking a positive new turn, I sensed again that God had given me something to say to her.
