God’s Commitment Fills the Earth
Psalm 33

Yesterday we went to the beach. It was a foolish venture because it was an August Saturday; I forgot that everyone else would have the same idea and that the parking would be impossible, but in the late afternoon we finally sat on the sand in a little cove and watched huge waves with their white crests pounding the shore. When we went for a little walk, I assured my wife that we could leave our blanket; the sea would never come up that high on the beach. I was right, but only just; a little later, to general amusement, a giant wave surged over the sand near us where a couple of small groups of people were settled in what they thought was a safe place. As we drove home (we spent more time on the road than at the ocean), my wife commented that she kept seeing the image of those awe-inspiring waves...
