(34) HOLY WEEK
This form of prayer is suitable for any day in Holy Week, including Good Friday. It uses one of the powerful images of the week – that of the gradual darkening of the atmosphere as fear and betrayal leave Jesus finally alone, the last light in the darkness, until that too is extinguished. Obviously this could be symbolized by the actual extinguishing of candles as the prayer proceeds, or it may be left up to the imagination of the people praying.
