This is the third homily in Paul’s trilogy on identification with culture. Paul first told his readers to accommodate to everyone and become “all things to all people.” He then reflected on the Hebrew sacramental past, and his advice was “some things to some people.” That is, Christian sacraments have continuity with the Hebrew experience of the exodus.
