Reflection/meditation: Agreement

It’s all about personal responsibility, isn’t it?
It’s all about not being able to pass the blame back to a past generation, or excuse personal behaviour by claiming that it’s all in the genetic structure.
At one time everyone relied totally on God’s leadership and protection, so punishment, or reward, was meted out according to the actions of the people, or those who were responsible for their physical and spiritual wellbeing. The law was given by God and interpreted by the elders and individuals either believed implicitly in that guidance, or disobeyed it altogether. Then the virtues, or sins, were passed on down the generations and punishment was able to be interpreted as a collective inheritance with no necessity for anyone to feel the need to take on personal blame.
