These readings make no secret of the fact that to serve God is both challenging and testing.
The apostle Paul wrote his second letter to Timothy from prison. It was not his first time behind bars, but this imprisonment is believed to have been in the Mamertine prison in Rome – a cold, dark cell below ground level where prisoners were kept chained (1:16)...
