1st Samuel 1 v 4-20 1st Samuel 2 v 1-10  Hebrews 10 v 11-14, 19-25 Mark 13 v 1-8


Among the outworkings of God’s plan for our salvation, is the story of a woman longing for a baby and of her answered prayers.

The child who was born to her was called Samuel, “Because,” said his mother, “I asked the Lord for him.” (1st Samuel 1 v 20).  Samuel was not of the tribe of Judah, nor of the kingly line that would lead to the Messiah, but he grew to be a prophet, also carrying out a priestly role, and - most notably – he anointed David to be the King of Israel and thus a forefather of Jesus Christ who would come to be known – among other titles - as “the son of David”...
