The Church is under the ruler ship of the Lord Jesus Christ. When on earth he taught with authority such as no one had ever heard before (Mark 1 v 22) and he demonstrated his authority even over evil spirits (v27). It was to Moses that God foretold the coming of Jesus - a prophet like Moses, yet clearly greater. He would speak God’s own words (Deuteronomy 18 v 18) so that there would be no need - and no excuse – to listen to false teaching of any kind, and no one was to speak falsehood in God’s name (v 14, 20)...
