Passionate God,
we thank you for the joy of romantic love,
with its delight and desire,
its intensity and power.
Forgive us when we reduce it
to cute sentiment and commercial gain....
God of all loving,
as our shops celebrate the joy of human love
with cards and flowers and special deals,
so we pray for those for whom loving is touched with pain.
We pray for those suffering the pain of rejection,
of relationships broken or grown dull with neglect,
those cutting ties, or left abandoned.
