SORROW TURNED INTO JOY
Hear me, Lord, in my distress;
turn this tide of barrenness;
cause my dark despair to cease;
bless me with your gift of peace.
As did Hannah in her prayer,
all my anguish I lay bare.
Help me, then, with her, to know:
Out of sorrow, joy may flow.
When you granted her request,
your intentions were expressed,
for, through her, though once forlorn,
Israel’s hope would be reborn.
