Look: gnawed and bleached, dismembered bones, a desert valley strewn with stones,

a metaphor of hopelessness,
for people worn with weariness.

It took a poet's way with thought,
an image that his mind had caught:
imagine flesh and new found life,
a counter to historic strife.
