Extract: First two verses

The clouds that seal our loss will trail with glory,
the floods that blight our land will cease to flow;
and in that day all lands will tell the story
and in each heart the faith of God will grow.

This God was born amid the mess of history,
with dirt beneath his nails, tears in his eyes;
and here, amid this Advent time and mystery,
will come again to startle and surprise.
