Essential elements

The RE Active Church workshop material is tailored to children in primary school Years 3–6, although this can be adapted for children at Key Stage 1 and those with learning difficulties (see Chapter 11). Familiarity with the Christian faith and life grows with termly visits to church over the four years of primary school. The four-year cycle of material can be reused, improved or changed as necessary. In 2010, we gave the introduction and plenary conclusion to the summer workshop a World Cup slant and, in 2012, will look to give it an Olympics twist.
