When my wife died, I was touched by the way people wanted to give something in thanksgiving for her life. One obvious object for that was the MS Society, because MS was the illness by means of which she had served God and glorified God over many years. Someone else wanted to give something to our church in Pasadena because he knew how much it had cared for Ann over the twelve years we have belonged to it; and I have mentioned that we had plans (among other things) to improve handicapped access in the church, which I had hoped would help Ann (and me!). One message that gave me particular delight was a card saying that as their thanksgiving some friends had donated five ducks to a two-thirds-world family by sending money to an organization that arranges that kind of thing...
