Throughout most of my life, I have had a particular place where I pray each day. At the moment it is an ancient recliner chair sitting in front of my desk. Next to it is a little table where I keep a Bible and a prayer notebook and so on, and on the other side of the chair is a little shelf where I put my cup of coffee. Across from the chair is a sofa where I sometimes think of God sitting as I read and ruminate and talk to God and ask God things and seek to see if God has anything to say to me. I know God is also present at this desk as I write and is present in other parts of the house, and I talk to God there, too, but it helps me that there is a particular place where I am used to talking to God...
