Where are we going?

My husband, Adrian, and I were spending a day in Venice, a city we love and visit as often as we can. If you have ever been there you will understand how easy it is to lose your bearings and sense of direction as you wander along all the calles and over the many bridges that give Venice its extraordinary atmosphere and beauty. On this particular day we had agreed, or thought we had agreed, which of our favourite restaurants we would visit at lunchtime. As we made our way towards food, drink and rest for our feet we had a few disagreements as to directions until it finally dawned on us that we had actually been thinking of two different restaurants in different parts of the city. We would never have got to either of them!...
