Description
Prayers of intercession suitable for use in worship which remind us why we pray for other people and the world to God who already knows.
We believe, God, that you already know all the pain, suffering and injustice in the world and care deeply about it. Yet still we pray. Not to remind you, God, but to remind ourselves. To glimpse again a vision of your kingdom.
We pray for those situations and places that many would rather we did not keep reminding ourselves about. We pray least our silence be taken as condoning these situations. We pray because what goes on is unacceptable and we want to keep reminding ourselves it is so.
We pray because we know many people draw strength from the knowledge that we do so. By naming them before you, God, they feel closer to you. They know that their situation is not forgotten. They know that they are not alone.
