Description
A dramatic dialogue - it's all the fault of the Census. Joseph is called into the office of the bureaucrat who's dealing with directing people to their home towns. The fictional dialogue provides an opportunity for the expression both of Joseph’s natural human consternation at the prospect of parenting God’s son and of his faith that God will stand by him and Mary and walk with them. The sketch also permits of the laying down of important markers for the life and work of Jesus through not so subtle hints and puns. The sketch is susceptible of use in an act of worship or in other Advent or Christmas events, and has been received well by congregations and audiences alike.
