Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday should be the most joyful event in the church year. Our churches are at their best on Easter Sunday, with glorious flowers and, where used, wonderful vestments. In the past churchgoers would wear their best – hence the tradition of the Easter bonnet, which may be worth reviving. Think of how much trouble goes into organizing a memorable celebration – as when the local team wins the FA Cup or for a particularly special party – and try to capture some of that energy and atmosphere. Much of this will come through the way the service is led, which means planning, preparation and direction are crucial....
