Churches are amazing spaces. Whether a whitewashed medieval stone building or a 1990s brick-built hall, these spaces are often the largest that we engage with during our week. If we go regularly to some of the larger parish churches or cathedrals found across the UK, we are probably entering one of the biggest spaces we will enter in our lives. Day after day I am privileged to watch and listen to regulars and visitors who engage with the wonder of a great cathedral. Each year we have hundreds of Year 6 children attending school leavers’ services, and for many of the children, simply entering the space, seeing the immense size of the pillars, the huge expanses of stained glass, is a moment of wonder...
