Romans 10: 5-15
I’ve been preaching for fifty years – fifty-one, actually. Started as a youngster in my teens. Wasn’t very wise to the world, but I thought I knew a lot – and even at that age I knew it was God that was calling me and that I had to follow that call. My parents thought I was crazy. They didn’t go to church themselves. They thought I’d caught religious mania. Thought I’d grow out of it. But I’m still here.
Youngsters these days don’t seem to want to hear preaching. They think it’s out of date. Can’t see the point in it. And their attention span doesn’t seem to be able to cope with anything that lasts more than five minutes. I feel sad for them really...
