I once witnessed a moving reconciliation scene, and the most moving thing about it was that no words were necessary. A lay minister had been storing up resentments against the clergyman who was the senior pastor in the church where they both worked. All sorts of issues had increased the tension, and there was a real danger of a complete and damaging break. But through various means, including prayer, the resentments were dealt with, and at the appropriate moment in the service one Sunday morning the layman, in front of everyone, went to the clergyman and gave him the sign of peace; not just a formal handshake, but a huge hug that went on a long time.
