Meditation on John 20: 19-31
Gaze on the doors of the house – note
the plural. First there is the heavy
external door, the main protection for
the property, made of solid wood with
massive hinges, and then another at
the top of the stairs behind which the
disciples cower. The bolts are still
drawn across, but somehow proved
useless. Gaze on the keys in the lock,
the catch still engaged, but overcome.
