Up, up and away

The next five years were incredibly rewarding and challenging. As I grew in confidence as a married woman, I grew in my desire to explore the world around me, and Ralph was the one to help me to do it. His attitude of ‘You’re not disabled, you’re just someone who needs a bit of help’ was marvellous. He would try to let me go for any challenge that I wanted to take up. I had been studying homeopathic medicine for a little over a year, working towards a diploma. Then we decided to take our first trip abroad to Paris. I absolutely loved it and had the bug to travel. My next challenge was visiting Israel, which was incredible, bringing the Bible to life – enhancing it in some cases and spoiling it in others. When I read my Bible the Garden of Gethsemane was no longer that beautiful, peaceful place. It was now a noisy city complete with police sirens, camel traders and raucous bystanders. But I wouldn’t have missed it for the world...
