Description
Drama: Ascension Sunday Dusting in the Temple
Gladys and Agnes are cleaning the Temple in Jerusalem. The two men who met Jesus on
the Emmaus road are kneeling and praising God.
Gladys: Do you think we ought to dust around them.
Agnes: Seems a bit rude.
Gladys: But they’ve been here for days on end. I’m worried they’re never going to go home.
And the dust will be building up something chronic.
Agnes: Where did you say they’d come from.
Gladys: Emmaus, they said. They were walking on the road to Emmaus and they had an
encounter with that Jesus bloke. Jesus of Nazareth.
Agnes: Isn’t he dead, Jesus of Nazareth. He was the one that got crucified wasn’t he?
About Passover time.
Gladys: Oh he was dead alright. I went to see it. Soldier stuck a sword in his side, blood and
water came out all separate, he was definitely dead. They buried him.
Agnes: So how did these two see him on the road?
Gladys: Well that’s just the thing nobody knows. They’re saying it was a miracle.
