Drama: People of Nazareth
This can be performed by seven people – six reading a sentence from each section and one concluding with the Bible quotation, or any number that is available.
I knew him when they first came here, when there were all those rumours about her being an unmarried mother.
I knew him when he was running around the streets barefoot – he was just as noisy and mischievous as all the other lads.
I remember him at school – proper little swot he was, always asking the teachers questions and giving the right answers in class.
I remember him in his Dad’s workshop. He was always hanging around wanting to do something. I thought he’d make a great carpenter when he grew up.
I remember his mother always being a bit mysterious about him. She seemed to be keeping back a lot of secrets.
I remember when he left home. She seemed much more upset about him than she did later, when his brothers moved on.
