Meditation on Luke 2: 1-14

Gaze on all the people in Bethlehem that
day who were unaware of what was going
on under their noses. They didn’t give the
stable a second glance. See the baker up
all night, making the bread for the rich
families, and sweet honey cakes, ready
for a little girl’s fifth birthday. Gaze on the
little girl, waking with excitement on her
special day. Hear the sounds coming from
the carpenter’s workshop, as the workman
puts the finishing touches to a coffin, ready
