According to news reports, Muammar el-Qaddafi, who had ruled Libya for over forty years, once declared, “I am an international leader, the dean of the Arab rulers, the king of kings of Africa and the imam of Muslims, and my international status does not allow me to descend to a lower level.” Two days ago the king of kings was dragged from a concrete sewer where he was hiding and shot. I don’t know precisely how to associate God with the fall of Qaddafi, but I can see how people in Libya will be believing that God has at last delivered them from Qaddafi’s rule and that God reigns a little more in Libya than was previously the case...
