Gaze on all of God’s glorious creation, at once so mysterious and yet so familiar. It is hard to find an image today that captures the carefulness of God’s work, for we are in a world where everything is mass produced, and we are removed from the manufacturing process. Even if we work in a factory, we only see a part of the final creation. Very, very few of us work as once the craftsmen did who built our magnificent cathedrals, when stonemasons carefully carved the pillars and poured all their creative energies into their work. It is in our hobbies today that we try to share in the experience of creation. We want to design and model something outside of ourselves – tend a garden, ice a cake, sing in a choir, or paint a picture. When we are absorbed in doing something we really love, we get as close as we ever can to the wonder of the Creator, and the deliberate passion of creation...
