Monologue/Meditation: Faith is the assurance of things hoped for…

Time and time again they take-off, tons of metal soaring sky-ward. Statistics say they're safe. Driving a car is more dangerous. I love flight, taking off and landing? But part of that is the exhilaration, the sense that, 'if God had meant us to fly he'd have given us wings'. But I trust.

Back in the 1800s there was a man called Charles Blondin. He made his fame and fortune by crossing the gorge above the Niagara Falls on a tight-rope. I've never been to the falls but I've seen photos, watching that tumbling, foaming maelstrom on the TV.
