The Paralysed Man (4 and 1)

Bible ref: Mark 2:1-12
If you have time find photographs of equipment that help people who are paralysed for projecting in the assembly as a lot of children will not have seen the items before...

Story
About the same time that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, five little boys were born in a small town on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. They were very ordinary boys and they lived in ordinary Jewish houses like this one. (Show a picture of the house from biblical times if you have one.)

The houses were made of twigs covered in mud which baked hard in the sun. They had one room downstairs in which the family lived and so did the animals at night and in the winter. There were steps outside to a flat roof, also made of mud and twigs. It had a small wall around it and was used by the family to store grain and tools and to sleep out there in the summer.

The five friends grew up to be inseparable. They went to school together. On the Sabbath they went to the Synagogue together to worship God. They fished and swam in the sea, they looked after the sheep and they went off for adventures together in the hills, taking a picnic. It was a good life until way day.
