Poem: Water upon water

Water upon water –
that’s what happened
in the days of Noah.
Rain created floods,
evaporated and created more rain
to heighten the floods
and bring devastation.

And no-one listened to Noah,
except his own family
and they had no choice.
But it was water that destroyed
and the same water that saved them,
as they went floating on
through the flood
until they hit the mountain
and the floods receded.
