Many movies have as a stock theme the marriage service that goes wrong at the last minute. The famous 1960s movie, The Graduate, ended up with the hero dashing into the church where his true love was about to marry someone else, and snatching her off just before it was too late. More recently the theme was worked over quite thoroughly in a film called Runaway Bride, where the bride wasn’t snatched away by someone else but simply kept running away of her own accord.
