Matthew 10.1-15

‘But how will I know the way?’ I asked, setting off on my first solo car journey.

‘Don’t be silly,’ said my mother. ‘We’ve been going there for years! You’ll know it all right.’

But I didn’t. I recognized many parts of the road. But there is all the difference in the world between sitting in a car, while someone else makes the decisions about which road to take, and doing it yourself. I got lost – just five miles from my own home! – and had to backtrack and ask someone for directions, as though I were a stranger in the area...
