Matthew 21: 23-32
Reflection / Drama – What would you do?
If you were a pillar of the local community, or church, would you be very happy if some big,
hairy, loud-mouthed bloke accused you of being incompetent, hypocritical, corrupt and lacking
in all sense of responsibility? If he told you that your only hope of putting yourself right and
being forgiven was to start saying sorry to everyone – and to God – what would be your
reaction then? And if he then insisted that his message was directly from God, would you
have believed him?
Thought not!
What right did he have to talk to you like that? How dangerous would it be if he undermined
your authority? How dare he speak as if he had a direct link to God? Who did he think he
was? He needed to be silenced – and quickly.
