God’s healing is both spiritual and physical. We can pray for God to heal both the broken heart and the broken body.
The health that comes to our broken bodies through modern medicine is by comparison with the age of the psalms and the time of Jesus nothing short of miraculous. When I allow my - self to think of the details of my surgery, even my squeamish mind baulks in wonder! These results of human ingenuity are ultimately gifts from God who made us. When we are struck down by illness we naturally pray for God to make us well. We look to the healings of Jesus and ask him to touch our lives in the same way. The difference between then and now is that the Gospels record Jesus healing all who asked; in our day some are healed and some are not...
