Monologue: All in white shall stand around

All in white shall stand around? That's how the old carol has it, doesn't it? Sounds like a decorators' convention at best, at worst boring!
Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to be irreverent, but it just doesn't make sense? I mean are they all queuing for heaven, or what? And they're waving palm branches? I'm afraid you've lost me now!
And they're singing you say? And talking about salvation? And a lamb? This is too extreme for the zaniest sitcom!
But for 2000 years now people have been reading this? Treasuring it? I guess there's got to be something there, but I'm blowed if I can fathom it.

Lets go back to the beginning.
