The Persecuted Church
Thessalonians 2.13-16

The day started clear and bright, with not a cloud in the sky. My son and I set off to climb in the mountains with every hope that the weather would hold. But as we reached the top of our first peak, a shock awaited us. We were climbing steeply on the south side, and couldn’t see the sky to the north; but when we came up on the summit ridge, we saw the sky darkening dangerously, with thick black clouds coming straight towards us on a strong wind. We quickly put on our protective clothing. Within 20 minutes the whole sky was black. A few minutes later, the rain was sweeping down all around us, and hardly stopped for the rest of the day...
