Description
Dramatised reading for Good Friday
Narrator 1 So after Jesus had been arrested.......
Narrator 2 (Interrupting) So why was that, then?
Narrator 1 Why was what?
Narrator 2 Why was Jesus arrested? What exactly happened on Good Friday? Go back a bit and fill us in.
Narrator 1 OK. So... Jesus is the Son of God. God sent Jesus to live among us and show us how to live the way God wants us to. Jesus said about himself, " For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him". Jesus went about teaching people, calling them to change their ways and turn to God; and he healed people who were ill, and told everyone the good news that God loved them, particularly the poor, and those that society thought were not important. Jesus talked about the Kingdom of God, a view of the world based on God's justice, love and forgiveness; but the Jewish leaders thought He had come to take away their power, and so they arrested Him on a trumped-up charge, and took Him to the High Priest.
Narrator 2 Wow, what happened next?
