Psalm 119: 25-48

Yesterday I got our congregation to write out their thanksgivings, uncertainties, and commitments for the coming year, in line with the plan I mentioned in connection with Psalm 105. Just before doing so, I realized that there was another question it would have been good to include (but it seemed too late to add it): What might they want to pray for during the next year? It would be exciting to check back on the answers to that question in a year’s time. Today I realize that there is yet another question that might lie behind that one: What promises has God given us that might form the basis for our prayers?...
