From six thousand miles’ distance I have been astonished to follow the London equivalent to Occupy Wall Street, which has involved protesters camping out at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where I was ordained, near the London counterpart of Wall Street. I was not surprised to discover that the cathedral is going to court to get the protesters removed, though I was glad to know that some of the cathedral staff have resigned in their own protest, in the conviction that the cathedral should self-evidently be on the side of the protesters.
