Description

Living by Trust in God
James 4.11-17

One of the most memorable minor characters in C. S. Lewis’s famous ‘Narnia’ stories is the strange and increasingly sinister ‘Uncle Andrew’ in The Magician’s Nephew. Uncle Andrew is, in fact, the ‘magician’ of the title, and his nephew Digory is the male hero of the story. To begin with, Uncle Andrew appears merely a bit odd. He is quirky, idiosyncratic, unpredictable, but no more than that. But gradually it becomes clear that he has planned a sinister plot – to get Digory and his sister Polly to try out what he believes to be magic rings. He is, it appears, too scared to try them for himself...
