Mark 1: 14-20

Gaze on the Sea of Galilee. No one who comes here remains unmoved. What is it about particular places that give them a holiness at their very core? Why does this place emanate such undisputed beauty? It is referred to in the Jewish Talmud as ‘God’s gem’ – a precious jewel adorning the far north of Israel.

Gaze on the rim of mountains far across the other side. Gaze on the opal surface of the lake, the sunrise reflecting in the water; feel the cool of its gentle waves rippling round your ankles as you breathe in and breathe out. Here every day is Sabbath rest for the soul. See the fishermen mending their nets, one knot at a time...
