Mark 13: 1-8

Gaze on the stones that are all that remains of the Temple today. They are huge slabs, glaring in the sun, lying there as a heap of blocks, tilted and abandoned where they fell. It is easy to imagine the massive walls and the moulded cornerstones that held up the base of the Temple. Feel their hard, rough surface, and the heat rising through the soles of your shoes. Stand where Jesus stood. These stones bore his weight more willingly than the donkey that had carried him into the city...
